“You Will Not Have My Hate,” from November 8th

After losing his wife in the November 13, 2015, attacks, a young man writes a powerful text that will resonate worldwide… Featuring Pierre Deladonchamps and Camélia Jordana, this is an emotional adaptation of Antoine Leiris’s autobiographical novel.

On November 13, 2015, Antoine Leiris’s world crumbles: Islamist terrorists kill 90 people attending a concert at the Bataclan in Paris. His wife, Hélène, is among the victims. Now, the cultural journalist finds himself alone with his three-year-old son, Melvil. While the thought of a world without her is unbearable, just days after the tragedy, he pens an open letter on Facebook to his wife’s killers, which soon goes viral…

National Mourning

“Friday night, you stole the life of an exceptional person, the love of my life, the mother of my son, but you will not have my hate.” Devastated by grief, Antoine Leiris somehow finds the strength to write this profound expression of the soul. Hatred, he believes, is deeply personal, and he refuses to give even a sliver of it to the Daesh attackers, whose goal was precisely to provoke a destructive, visceral reaction within French society. His words are shared and heard around the world; Le Monde publishes the letter on its front page.

In adapting the eponymous autobiographical account published in 2016 by Antoine Leiris, Kilian Riedhof narrates, with deep emotion, the thirteen days following Hélène’s death, portrayed by Camélia Jordana. Now alone with his young son, Antoine, played by Pierre Deladonchamps, must learn to live again. This challenge becomes all the more daunting as he finds himself, unwillingly, at the forefront of a nation’s collective mourning…
