As consolation, she receives Sunny, a new-generation domestic robot made by her husband’s electronics company.
Although initially reluctant to let Sunny fill the void left by her family, Suzie eventually develops an unexpected friendship with the robot.
Together, they uncover the dark truth behind her family’s disappearance and become dangerously enmeshed in a world Suzie never knew existed.
