From September 17 to December 1, the Forum des Images in Paris is hosting a festival that reexamines the romantic comedy genre. Titled “Is the Romantic Comedy ‘Retrograde’?”, this event explores the evolution of this genre through over 90 films, cinema courses, and discussions. The festival will open on September 17 with the premiere of Les Reines du drame by Alexis Langlois, with the film’s team in attendance.

Through the perspective of a young ethnologist with questionable ethics, this fiction tackles the genocide committed at the turn of the 20th century by the German Empire in its South-West African colonies.
Set in 1896 Berlin, Alexander Hoffman, an idealistic young doctoral student, is shocked by a colonial exhibition featuring “human specimens” from the South-West African colonies. His encounter with Kezia, a young Herero interpreter, leads him to question the validity of craniometry—the measurement of skulls—one of the bases of racist theories at the time. Years later, as part of a scientific expedition to collect artifacts for German museums, Hoffman witnesses firsthand the extermination war against the Herero and Nama people.

A story rooted in one of the least known yet most horrific chapters of colonial history, The Measured Man delves into the genocides committed between 1904 and 1908 by German forces in present-day Namibia.

Agatha All Along

The series “Agatha All Along” is a spin-off of the Marvel series “WandaVision”. It focuses on the character of Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, and was created by Jac Schaeffer, who is also the creator of “WandaVision.”

After being imprisoned by Wanda Maximoff in the original series, Agatha resumes her quest for power in this new project.

In “Agatha All Along”, Agatha Harkness, a powerful, fallen witch, regains her freedom thanks to the intervention of a mysterious goth teenager who begs her to accompany him on the legendary “Witches’ Road.” Together, they traverse a series of magical trials that promise to restore Agatha’s lost powers while exploring the mysteries and dangers of the occult world.
